Occupational therapy provides treatment for acute and chronic pain dysfunction of the hand, wrist, and forearm.  This can include carpal tunnel syndrome, lateral epicondylitis, arthritis, crushing injury, or conditions of unknown etiologies.

Occupational therapy techniques include therapeutic exercise, custom fabricated splints, edema control, scar massage and desensitization, IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), energy conservation/work simplification, joint protection, assistance with ADL's, and job sight analysis.

Barb Shetler and Jessica Spears, our Occupational Therapists, have an extensive history in hand rehab as well as experience in neurologic rehabilitation with stroke and brain injured patients. They provide patients with re-education, training in self-care, and adaptive equipment training.

The addition of occupational therapy to our many treatment services helps our staff provide a comprehensive approach to treating all aspects of our patient's daily lives and providing functional return.
